Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara and starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, is set in the 1960s and features Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa and Srileela in key roles. The film’s music has been composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar.
The Central Board of Film Certification had earlier directed that 25 changes be made to the film and granted it a U/A 16+ certificate. Following this, certain dialogues were reportedly edited. With the major issues now resolved, the film was released on Friday amid much fanfare.
Fans thronged theatres to celebrate the release, bursting crackers and distributing sweets. Amid the festive atmosphere, several celebrities arrived at theatres to watch special shows of Parasakthi along with fans.
Actress Srileela, actress Shalini Ajithkumar and actor Dhruv Vikram watched the film at Sathyam Theatre in Royapettah. Actor Ravi Mohan and singer Kelisha watched the film at Kasi Theatre. The celebrities received an enthusiastic welcome from fans at the theatres.
