Chain snatched from woman inside AIIMS lift

A daring chain-snatching incident inside a lift at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences has triggered concern after a video of the crime went viral on social media in Bhopal.
The incident occurred on Sunday within the AIIMS hospital premises. CCTV footage shows a woman employee entering a lift, followed closely by an unidentified youth wearing a face mask. When the lift reached another floor and the doors opened, the youth suddenly snatched the gold chain from the woman and fled.
The victim immediately chased the accused, but he managed to escape by running down the staircase. The entire episode was captured on the lift’s surveillance camera, and the video has since been widely circulated online.
Following a complaint lodged by the woman employee, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. Efforts are under way to identify and trace the accused using CCTV footage from within the hospital campus and surrounding areas.
The incident has sparked serious concern, as the theft took place inside a high-security medical institution. Hospital staff and visitors have expressed shock over the audacity of the crime and raised questions about security arrangements within the AIIMS
