Chief minister MK Stalin declares open Rs 208.50 cr Semmozhi Park in Coimbatore

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated and inspected the grand Semmozhi Park, built at a cost of Rs. 208.50 crore in Coimbatore.
At the World Tamil Classical Language Conference held in Coimbatore in 2010, the then Chief Minister, the late former Chief Minister Kalaignar, announced that a Classical Language Park would be set up on 165 acres in the Gandhipuram Central Jail complex in Coimbatore.


After the change of government in 2011, this project was shelved during the AIADMK regime. After that, when the DMK came back to power in 2021, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin revived the Classical Language Park project.

In the first phase, the Corporation undertook the construction of a classical park on an area of ​​45 acres at a cost of Rs. 208.50 crore.
The foundation stone of this work was laid by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in 2023.
The work has now been completed. Following this, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today inaugurated and inspected the Semmozhi Park, which will serve as an entertainment venue for the people of Coimbatore.

He thoroughly toured the park and enjoyed it. Earlier, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who arrived at the Coimbatore airport, was welcomed by Ministers K.M. Nehru, T.R.B. Raja, and Saminathan, Coimbatore District Collector Pawan Kumar, Mayor Ranganayaki, MP Ganapathy Rajkumar, District Secretaries Durai. Senthamizh Selvan, Thondamuthur Ravi, Thalapathi Murugesan, DMK wing organizers N.Karthik, lawyer Rajiv Gandhi, and others, led by party regional in-charge Senthil Balaji. After the reception, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reached Gandhipuram by car from there.

Currently, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is inaugurating the Semmozhi Park and is visiting it. The Chief Minister was given a rousing welcome when he visited the Coimbatore Classical Language Park inauguration ceremony.
He was given a rousing welcome by DMK members and the public with the sound of drums. Accepting their welcome, the Chief Minister left to inaugurate the Semmozhi Park.

He travelled by road from the airport, on the newly constructed GD Naidu flyover near PSG College of Arts and Sciences, and went to the opening ceremony of the Classical Park.
