Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) president Abhijit Dipke has announced that his party will launch a protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar from October 2 if he does not resign.
Dipke had earlier issued a 48-hour deadline for Kumar to step down, amid criticism from opposition parties over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Dipke said the protest would begin in Mumbai on October 2 and would subsequently be expanded to cities across the country.
He said Gandhi Jayanti would be observed as a day to take a pledge to protect democracy.
Dipke had earlier alleged that elections in India were being conducted improperly and called on opposition parties to consider boycotting elections. These remain his political allegations and demands.
