The summit is being held on January 8 and 9. A humanoid robot welcomed the Chief Minister at the venue. During the inaugural session, Memorandums of Understanding were signed with various industrial companies in the presence of Chief Minister
M K Stalin.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister M K Stalin said Tamil Nadu’s strength lay in the natural integration of its manufacturing base and information technology ecosystem. He said the Dravidian Model of governance viewed technology not merely as a tool for economic growth, but as an instrument for social progress. He said the IT summit reflected the State government’s vision to take Tamil Nadu forward on a progressive path through technology. The Chief Minister noted that the Information Technology Conference was being held after the Dravidian Model government came to power and said data released by the Union Government on software exports from 32 districts stood as proof of Tamil Nadu’s technological growth.
Chief Minister M K Stalin said the State’s administrative structure and technology policies had played a key role in this development. He described schemes such as the free laptop programme for college students as investments in the future to ensure equal access to technology.
He also announced that the Chief Minister’s Creative Library, which was launched in North Chennai, would soon be expanded across Tamil Nadu. Stressing that technology should be accessible to all, he said information technology must serve both economic and social development.
Chief Minister M K Stalin said Tamil Nadu should remain at the forefront of new-age technologies and continue to lead other States in technological advancement.
