CM Stalin Inaugurates New Panchayat Union Offices in Tiruvannamalai District

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Tuesday inaugurated newly constructed Panchayat Union office buildings at Pudupalayam, Tellar and Cheyyar in Tiruvannamalai district through video conferencing from the Secretariat in Chennai.
The buildings were constructed by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department at a total cost of more than Rs. 17 crore to strengthen local administration and improve public services in the district.
Following the virtual inauguration, a function was held at the Pudupalayam Panchayat Union office where Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker K. Pichandi inaugurated the building for public use by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Kalasapakkam MLA P. S. S. Saravanan and District Revenue Officer I. Rampradeepan were present at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Pichandi said the State government led by Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has been implementing several welfare schemes and development projects across Tamil Nadu.
He said that in Tiruvannamalai district, the Pudupalayam Panchayat Union office was constructed at a cost of Rs. 5.90 crore, the Tellar Panchayat Union office at Rs. 5.36 crore and the Cheyyar Panchayat Union office at Rs. 5.90 crore.
He further noted that several development initiatives, including road works, drinking water schemes and construction of new public buildings, are being carried out continuously across the district to benefit the public, students, farmers, youth, women and entrepreneurs.
Officials from the Rural Development Department, including District Rural Development Agency Joint Director and Project Director R. Mani, Assistant Director Manivasagam and Executive Engineer Elango, along with other government officials, attended the event.
