CM Stalin participates in ‘Dravidian Pongal’ celebrations at Kolathur

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin participated in the ‘Dravidian Pongal’ festival held on Friday morning at the Kolathur Assembly Constituency office, his home constituency.
As per the Chief Minister’s instructions, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is celebrating ‘Dravidian Pongal’ across Tamil Nadu, with Pongal gifts being distributed to the public in all districts. As part of this initiative, the Kolathur celebration was organised on a grand scale.
The Chief Minister, accompanied by his wife Durga Stalin, arrived at the venue in the morning and was warmly received by DMK executives and women participants, who presented him with mementoes. The venue was festooned with sugarcane stalks and banana garlands. A large Pongal pot was arranged, along with a cow and calf, adding to the traditional festive atmosphere.
Mr. Stalin and Durga Stalin fed bananas to the cow and calf and later took part in the Pongal preparation. After the ritual, they distributed Pongal to those present.
Welfare programmes were later held on a specially erected stage. During the event, the Chief Minister presented Pongal gift hampers to students undergoing training at Anita Achievers Academy. Gifts and welfare assistance were also provided to women who participated in the celebrations.
According to organisers, a total of 8,456 people received Pongal items, puja materials and gifts. Women participants, all dressed in identical sarees, enthusiastically took selfies with the Chief Minister.
Minister P.K. Sekarbabu, Chennai Mayor R. Priya, and several DMK executives were present at the function.
