CM Stalin to address DMK youth wing in Tiruvannamalai

With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in focus, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has intensified its organisational activities across the State. As part of this effort, various party wings are holding meetings to strengthen the party structure and energise cadres at the grassroots level.
The DMK Youth Wing, which has about five lakh office-bearers and more than 50 lakh members across Tamil Nadu, has been directed by DMK President and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to organise executives’ conferences in every region by bringing together office-bearers. In line with this directive, the Northern Zone Youth Wing Executives’ Conference is being held in Tiruvannamalai today.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is scheduled to take part in the conference and address the gathering, offering guidance and suggestions to youth wing functionaries on organisational responsibilities and future political activities. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the event at the Vaniyanthangal area near Tiruvannamalai, where a massive stage and pandal have been erected. The venue has been named “Kalaignar Thidal.”
The conference will begin at 4 p.m. and will be presided over by Deputy Chief Minister and DMK Youth Wing Secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will deliver the special address, while Public Works, Highways and Minor Ports Minister E.V. Velu will present the welcome address.
Several senior DMK leaders, ministers and MLAs are expected to participate in the programme. Party sources said around 1.30 lakh youth wing office-bearers are likely to attend the conference. Youth wing executives from six districts — Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Tirupattur, Ranipet, Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri — have gathered in Tiruvannamalai for the meet.
In view of the visit of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, DMK flags have been erected across Tiruvannamalai town and along key routes leading to the venue. Grand welcome arches have also been set up. Minister E.V. Velu has appealed to party cadres to assemble along district borders to accord a warm welcome to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. Meanwhile, police have been deployed in large numbers to ensure security and the smooth conduct of the conference.
