CM Vijay announces Rs. 30 lakh relief for family of deceased woman aHead Constable

Chief Minister Vijay has announced a relief of Rs. 30 lakh for the family of M. Kannagi, a 34-year-old woman head constable who died while attempting to prevent a dispute between two groups at the Paramakudi Government Hospital in Ramanathapuram district. Kannagi was serving as a head constable at the Parthibanur Police Station. She was on duty at the Paramakudi Government Hospital outpost on September 28 when two groups involved in a dispute were brought to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
According to the Chief Minister’s statement, another dispute broke out between the two groups while they were at the hospital. Kannagi attempted to intervene and prevent the confrontation. During the effort, she chased a person who fled from the spot. She unexpectedly fell down and became unconscious. She was immediately admitted to the Paramakudi Government Hospital for treatment. However, she died despite treatment. Expressing deep sorrow over her death, Chief Minister Vijay said Kannagi’s demise was an irreparable loss to the Tamil Nadu Police Department and her family.
The Chief Minister conveyed his condolences and sympathies to Kannagi’s family members, relatives and colleagues.
He also ordered the release of Rs. 30 lakh as relief to her family.
