CM Vijay conducts surprise inspection at electricity board headquarters

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Wednesday conducted a surprise inspection at the Electricity Board headquarters on Anna Salai in Chennai amid reports of continued power cuts in several parts of the State.
Power outages have been reported in various areas in recent days, with residents in some places staging protests over the issue.
Complaints related to power supply have also increased, according to reports.
Vijay visited the Electricity Board headquarters on Wednesday morning and reviewed the functioning of various power-related offices.
He inspected the power generation, distribution and transmission operations and also visited Minnagam, the electricity consumer grievance redressal centre. Officials briefed him on the complaints received from consumers and the steps taken to address them.
The Chief Minister also sought details from officials regarding the State’s power generation, present electricity demand and the availability of power.
The visit comes amid growing attention to power supply issues across Tamil Nadu.
