Trinamool Congress MP Sayani Ghosh met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Tuesday and discussed his vision for inclusive development, opportunities and good governance in the State.
Following the meeting, Ghosh said Vijay spoke warmly about West Bengal and expressed his appreciation for its rich culture and traditions.
Ghosh said she was pleased to meet the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and thanked him for his warm hospitality. She also conveyed her best wishes for his efforts to realise his vision for the State.
Sayani Ghosh, an actor and singer-turned-politician, entered politics in 2021. She joined the Trinamool Congress in February 2021 and contested the West Bengal Assembly election from Asansol South constituency the same year.
Although she lost the election to BJP candidate Agnimitra Paul, Ghosh was later appointed president of the Trinamool Youth Congress.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha election, Ghosh contested from the Jadavpur constituency on a Trinamool Congress ticket and won by a margin of more than 2.5 lakh votes.
