In a unique initiative to promote voter awareness, a painting teacher from Coimbatore has created an artwork using 25,000 rice grains to emphasize the importance of 100% voting in the upcoming Assembly elections. With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled for April 23, the Election Commission and district administration have been actively conducting awareness campaigns to encourage maximum voter turnout. Educational institutions, private organizations, and volunteers have also been contributing through creative initiatives.
As part of this effort, Manoharan, an art teacher at a private school, designed a detailed painting of the district’s election mascot, the “Voter Bird” (Vaaku Veeran), entirely using rice grains.
Out of the 25,000 rice grains used, around 15,000 were carefully arranged to spell out the message “100% Vote.”
The artwork took nearly 80 hours to complete, showcasing both creativity and dedication.
Speaking about his effort, Manoharan said that voting is a fundamental democratic duty and urged the public to participate actively to ensure 100% voter turnout in the elections.
