District Collector Dr. Manish Narnaware, I.A.S., inspected knitwear production and solar power facilities at Aytha Apparel Park in Netaji Apparel Park, Tiruppur, on Thursday.
Netaji Apparel Park, spread over 166 acres and established in February 2003, houses more than 53 export-oriented knitwear units and provides employment to over 15,000
workers.
The park manufactures a wide range of products including women’s slips, vests, crocheted garments, flat-knit garments, knitted men’s and women’s wear.
It also has facilities such as a training centre, conference hall, labour welfare amenities, drinking water supply and drainage systems. During the inspection, the Collector reviewed production processes and interacted with unit representatives.
He also examined the solar power generation system functioning within the premises. General Manager, District Industries Centre, Karthigaivasan, Administrative Officer, Netaji Apparel Park, R. Ramu, Joint Managing Director, K.N. Knitwear Company, Vishnu Prabhu, and other departmental officials accompanied the Collector during the
visit.
