Collector K. Tharpagaraj Inaugurates Diwali Crackers Sale in Tiruvannamalai

With Diwali celebrations fast approaching, Tiruvannamalai District Collector K. Tharpagaraj, IAS, inaugurated the sale of firecrackers on Monday (Oct. 13) at the District Consumer Cooperative Wholesale Warehouse outlet located on Sannathi Street, Tiruvannamalai Corporation.

To meet festive demand, firecrackers worth Rs. 60 lakh have been procured by the District Consumer Cooperative Wholesale Warehouse. Crackers from reputed brands such as Standard, Dwetthi Kili, Arasan Kuil, and Ayyan are available for sale, ensuring both quality and safety for the public.

For customer convenience, Diwali gift boxes are being sold at various price points ranging from Rs. 495 to Rs. 2,005, catering to different budget levels. Additionally, several new varieties of crackers have been introduced this year to enhance the festive experience.

Speaking at the inauguration, Collector Tharpagaraj urged the public to celebrate Diwali with joy while observing safety precautions when handling fireworks. He also advised residents to purchase only certified and quality-assured crackers from authorized cooperative outlets to ensure a safe and eco-friendly celebration.

The event was attended by Joint Registrar (Cooperative Societies) Parthiban, Deputy Registrar of Cooperatives Vinoth, and other departmental officials. The cooperative initiative aims to make high-quality crackers accessible at fair prices, benefitting both consumers and the local economy ahead of the festival of lights.
