Couple wins Rs 1.25 Crore Lottery, locks house and goes into hiding

A couple from Saidek village in Faridkot district, Punjab, went into hiding after winning a lottery prize worth Rs 1.25 crore, fearing threats or harassment from others in the area.
Ram Singh, an agricultural labourer, had purchased a lottery ticket for Rs 200.

To his surprise, the ticket won a prize of Rs 1.25 crore. Shocked and worried that news of the win might spread and put them at risk, Ram Singh and his wife Naseeb Kaur locked their house, switched off their phone, and quietly left the village without informing anyone.
When neighbours noticed the locked house, word spread, and the Faridkot police traced the couple to ensure their safety.

Police officers contacted Ram Singh and Naseeb Kaur and assured them that security would be provided and that no harm would come to them.
Following the assurance, the couple returned to their home in Saidek village.
