A Chennai Civil Court has restrained the faction led by Anbumani Ramadoss from using the name, image and party symbols associated with PMK founder S. Ramadoss.
The court issued the interim order while hearing a petition filed on behalf of Ramadoss seeking a ban on the alleged unauthorised use of his identity and party-related symbols.
In the petition, it was contended that Anbumani Ramadoss had been expelled from the party and was continuing to function as leader without any legal authority. It also sought a direction to prevent candidates aligned with him from using Ramadoss’ photograph in election campaigns. The court ordered that the restriction would remain in force until further orders and adjourned the case to June 4 for the next hearing.
The development marks a significant turn in the internal dispute within the PMK ahead of the Assembly elections.
