The Madras High Court has ordered a DNA test in connection with the paternity dispute involving fashion designer Joy Crisylla and chef-actor Madampatti Rangaraj.
Last year, Joy Crisylla accused Rangaraj of cheating on her and abandoning her when she was pregnant. Initially denying the allegations, Rangaraj later told the State Women’s Commission that he had been in a relationship with Joy but claimed he had no connection with the child.
Acting on Joy Crisylla’s petition seeking to establish the child’s paternity, the High Court recently directed that a DNA test be conducted.
Meanwhile, Joy Crisylla has been sharing photographs of her child on social media. On Friday, she posted pictures revealing the face of her son, whom she named Ragha Rangaraj. Earlier posts had shown the child without revealing his face.
The development has drawn mixed reactions online, with several netizens commenting that the child’s photos should not be used while the legal dispute between the two continues.
During the hearing, the court also noted that Joy Crisylla had divorced her first husband in July 2024, while her claim that she married Rangaraj in December 2023 raises legal questions. It was also noted that Rangaraj is already married to Shruti and has two sons.
