CSI Christ Church Launches Modhur Green Project

The “Modhur Green Project”, initiated by CSI Christ Church on Trichy Road, Coimbatore, was launched on Saturday with the planting of around 1,000 saplings.

Rt. Rev. S. Prince Calvin, Bishop of the CSI Coimbatore Diocese, inaugurated the project by unveiling a commemorative plaque at irumburai village at sirumugai..He also planted saplings and hoisted the National Flag.

Addressing the gathering, Rt. Rev. S. Prince Calvin highlighted the importance of trees in protecting the environment. He said agroforestry could help conserve the environment while also improving soil fertility. He urged people to plant and nurture more trees for the welfare of future generations.

As part of the Modhur Green Project, around 1,000 saplings have been planted. A herbal garden established for the benefit of the public was also inaugurated during the event.

Rev. Stephen Ebenazar, Rev. Shanthakumar, Rev. Abraham, church Secretary J.A. Paramanandham, Treasurer Arun Anandaraj, project coordinator Adam Appadurai, coordinator Godwin Koil, among others, participated in the programme.

The Modhur Green Project plans to undertake several green initiatives aimed at promoting environmental protection, afforestation and sustainable agriculture.
