The Tamil Nadu Director General of Police (DGP) office has been receiving bomb threat emails almost every day.
In the latest instance, an email received yesterday contained a death threat against Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.
The email claimed that a conspiracy had been hatched to assassinate Udhayanidhi Stalin and his son Inbanithi.
It further stated that hired killers had already been arranged, and demanded ₹10 crore to avert the attack. Shocked by the content, police immediately initiated security checks.
Bomb detection and disposal experts conducted a thorough search at the Deputy Chief Minister’s residence. The threatening email was then forwarded to the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and a detailed investigation is underway.
It is noteworthy that similar threatening messages were recently sent to the residences of film director Shankar, choreographer Kala, and actor Thiagarajan, father of actor Prashanth.
