Delhi youth’s misbehaviour with Korean tourists

A disturbing video of a young man harassing two Korean women near India Gate in the capital has gone viral, drawing widespread condemnation and sparking debate over India’s global image.

The video shows the youth approaching the tourists and asking them for a fist bump, saying, “This is my dream.” Though visibly hesitant, the women reluctantly oblige. He then presses further, repeatedly insisting, “I want to hug you.” The women step back, but after his persistence, one of them gives him a quick hug before moving away.

The incident, recorded in a bustling public space, has triggered sharp criticism across social media platforms. Netizens slammed the behaviour as shameful and damaging to India’s reputation as a welcoming destination. Many users posted apologies to the tourists, expressing embarrassment that such conduct overshadows the country’s tradition of hospitality.

Several also stressed that the actions of a few individuals should not define Indian society, while urging authorities to take action to prevent harassment of foreign visitors.

As of now, Delhi Police have not confirmed whether a case has been registered, but the viral video has intensified calls for stricter measures to ensure the safety and dignity of international tourists in India.
