Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, affectionately known as Captain Cool, has officially obtained his DGCA-certified drone pilot license, marking his entry into India’s rapidly growing drone industry.
Dhoni completed his remote pilot training at Garuda Aerospace, a Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)-approved Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO) based in Chennai. He shared the milestone on social media, delighting fans across the country.
Interestingly, Dhoni is also an investor and brand ambassador of Garuda Aerospace, which holds the distinction of being India’s first drone startup to receive dual DGCA approvals — for both manufacturing and training.
Speaking about Dhoni’s accomplishment, Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, said, “It’s a proud and inspiring moment for us that our brand ambassador and investor, M.S. Dhoni, has successfully completed the DGCA drone pilot certification program. His dedication, focus, and belief in our mission to revolutionize the drone industry are truly motivating for our entire team. Dhoni bhai continues to inspire us all.”
With this certification, Dhoni adds yet another dimension to his multifaceted career — from cricketing legend to tech-savvy innovator — symbolizing how determination and curiosity can take flight beyond the boundaries of sport.
