District Development Coordination Committee Meeting Held in Coimbatore

The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting was held today at the Coimbatore District Collectorate under the chairmanship of Coimbatore MP Dr. Ganapathi P. Rajkumar and in the presence of Pollachi MP K. Eeswarasamy.

Coimbatore District Collector Pawankumar G. Giriyappanavar, I.A.S., Corporation Commissioner Ma. Sivaguru Prabhakaran, I.A.S., Additional Collector (Development) Sanket Balwant Wage, I.A.S., Coimbatore Corporation Deputy Mayor Ra. Vetriselvan, Women’s Project Director Mathura, District Social Welfare Officer Ambika, District Backward Classes Welfare Officer Sangeetha, Assistant Director (Town Panchayats) Manoranjitham, Assistant Director (Village Panchayats) Kamalakannan and several government officials and committee members took part in the meeting.

Earlier, on behalf of the District Disabled Welfare Department, five beneficiaries were provided with three-wheelers worth ₹5.25 lakh by MP Dr. Ganapathi P. Rajkumar and District Collector Pawankumar G. Giriyappanavar.

During the meeting, officials reviewed the progress of various development works across departments including municipalities, town panchayats, panchayats, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, Highways, Agriculture, Sericulture, Women’s Welfare, Health, Aavin, Urban Habitat Development Board, Supply and Consumer Protection, ICDS, MSME, School Education and Social Welfare. They were instructed to expedite ongoing works and ensure timely completion.

Special focus was laid on the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT 2.0), 15th Finance Commission Grants, Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM), Town Panchayat Housing Scheme, and rural development works including Anganwadi centres, CC roads, check dams, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN), and Solid & Liquid Waste Management projects.

It was also resolved to strengthen support for women self-help groups through the SHG–Bank Linkage Programme, provide skill development training for youth, promote self-employment opportunities, and speed up housing and drinking water supply projects.

Committee Chairman Dr. Ganapathi P. Rajkumar and Co-chairman K. Eeswarasamy emphasized that all government schemes should be effectively implemented and delivered to the people at the earliest.
