An awareness and interactive programme on the Central Government’s Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS 5.0) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) was held at the CODISSIA Complex in Coimbatore on
Monday.
The programme was organised jointly by the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Tamil Nadu, and Canara Bank, the Lead Bank for Coimbatore district, in accordance with the directions of the Department of Financial Services, Government of India.
ECLGS 5.0 is a credit guarantee scheme aimed at helping business enterprises, MSMEs and the aviation sector address short-term liquidity challenges and improve access to credit8 support.
During the session, participants were provided detailed information on the scheme’s objectives, eligibility criteria, application procedures, guarantee coverage and benefits. Awareness was created among MSME entrepreneurs, banks, financial institutions and industrial associations to encourage wider utilisation of the scheme.
Officials from the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company (NCGTC), JanSamarth/PSB Alliance, SLBC and various banks participated in the programme. They explained the features of the scheme and clarified queries raised by entrepreneurs and stakeholders.
More than 300 participants, including MSME entrepreneurs from Coimbatore and neighbouring districts, representatives of industrial associations, bankers and delegates from financial institutions, attended the programme.
