The first interstate geriatric conference, ELDERCON 2025, with the theme “Healthy Aging – Adding Life to Years,” was successfully conducted at PSG Hospitals, a unit of PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore.
The inaugural session was attended by leading medical experts. Dr. J.K. Periasamy, Senior Cardiologist, presided as Chief Guest, while Padma Shri Dr. V.S. Natarajan, widely regarded as the father of Geriatric Medicine in India, participated as Guest of Honor.
The conference brought together doctors, academicians, and healthcare professionals to discuss the growing importance of geriatric medicine in India. Key sessions focused on healthy aging practices, prevention of lifestyle-related diseases, dementia care, and holistic methods to improve the quality of life of the elderly.
Experts from multiple medical disciplines participated in the deliberations, stressing the need for collaborative efforts to strengthen geriatric care across the country.
Organizers said the event marked an important milestone for PSG Hospitals in its mission to promote healthcare excellence and raise awareness about specialized fields of medicine.
