K. Padmarajan, widely known as the “Election King,” has filed his nomination for the 253rd time to contest the upcoming Assembly elections from the Mettur constituency.
The 67-year-old from Mettur has earned recognition for contesting a record number of elections across the country, including Parliamentary, Assembly, local body and cooperative polls.
Padmarajan submitted his nomination papers on Monday before Returning Officer Sukumar.
Having already contested 252 elections, his latest filing marks his 253rd attempt, further extending his unique record in India’s electoral history.
