Erode kid dies after banana causes suffocation

A three-year-old boy from Annai Sathya Nagar, Erode, died on Monday night after a piece of banana became stuck in his windpipe, causing severe suffocation.
The child, Sai Charan, son of Manik and Mahalakshmi, was eating a banana when he suddenly began choking and struggled to breathe.
Shocked by the situation, the parents rushed him to a private hospital in Erode with the help of
neighbours.
Doctors there found that a chunk of banana had blocked the child’s windpipe and warned that his condition was critical.
They advised the family to shift him immediately to the Erode Government Hospital.
Despite being taken there at once, doctors at the government hospital said the boy had died on the way.
The grieving parents broke down as doctors later removed the banana piece lodged in his trachea.
The Karungalpalayam police have registered a case and initiated an
investigation.
The tragic incident has left the neighbourhood in deep shock and
sadness.
