Fan who touched Kohli’s feet briefly detained after pitch invasion

As India and South Africa gear up for the third and deciding ODI at Visakhapatnam with the series tied 1-1, a dramatic incident involving Indian star batter Virat Kohli continues to attract
attention.
During the first ODI of the series, soon after Kohli scored a stunning century, an overenthusiastic fan jumped over the security barricade, ran onto the field and fell at Kohli’s feet in an emotional gesture.
Security personnel immediately intervened and swiftly escorted the fan out of the stadium.
In a later development, the fan has claimed on social media that he was briefly detained at a police station following the
incident.
According to his version, he was released after some time, allegedly following intervention from
Kohli.
However, there is no official confirmation from the police regarding this
claim.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns over ground security, even as Virat Kohli remains in sensational form with centuries in the first two matches.
Cricket fans are now eagerly awaiting his performance in the decisive third ODI on Saturday.
