Father ends life after killing two Children near Tiruvannamalai

In a heart-wrenching incident near Sethupattu in Tiruvannamalai district, a man allegedly killed his two children before ending his own life, reportedly distressed over family problems. The deceased has been identified as Krishnan (44) of Tellur village near Arani. He had been working in Chennai and was living with his daughter Kayalvizhi (9) in Chromepet, while his wife Poongodi (40) stayed with their son Nitharshan (7) at her mother’s house in Aakaram village following their separation three years ago. According to police sources, Poongodi had recently left her son at her mother’s home and moved to Chennai to live with a friend. When Krishnan came to Tellur with his daughter to celebrate Diwali, he reportedly learned about this development and was deeply upset.
In a moment of despair, Krishnan is said to have strangled both his children to death late Wednesday night and later hanged himself inside his house. The horrifying incident came to light the next morning when neighbours grew suspicious and alerted the police.
Officers from the Sethupattu Police Station rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies, and sent them to the Arani Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway to ascertain the exact cause of the tragic event.
