A horrifying incident has shocked Madukkur in Thanjavur district, where a father brutally murdered his three children after his wife allegedly eloped with another man.
The accused, Vinoth Kumar (38), a photographer and driver from Periyakkottai–Gopalasamudram, was married to Nithya (35). The couple had two daughters, aged 12 and 8, and a 5-year-old son.
Police said Nithya developed a relationship with a man from Mannargudi, Tiruvarur district, through social media and left her family six months ago. Despite repeated pleas from Vinoth Kumar to return, she refused.
Distraught and enraged, Vinoth Kumar reportedly bought sweets for his children on Thursday evening and later slit their throats inside their home, killing all three.
After the brutal act, he walked into the Madukkur Police Station and surrendered, confessing to the murders. Police have arrested him and registered a case under Section 302 (Murder) of the IPC.
The gruesome crime has left residents of Madukkur and Pattukkottai in deep shock, as grieving villagers gathered outside the family’s home, mourning the innocent victims of the father’s senseless rage.
