Female Peacock electrocuted near Thudiyalur in Coimbatore

A female peacock, about three years old, died after being electrocuted by an electric wire in the Appanayakkanpalayam area near Thudiyalur in Coimbatore.
The incident occurred when the peacock was flying across the road and came into contact with a live electric wire, causing it to fall onto the road.
A passerby, Ramalingam, noticed the bird struggling after the electric shock and attempted to rescue it. He provided first aid by giving it water, but the peacock died shortly afterwards.
The Coimbatore Forest Department was informed about the incident. Officials who arrived at the spot examined the bird and confirmed that it was a female peacock aged around three years.
The forest officials later took the carcass for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
