Five members of a pickleball club were killed after a small aircraft crashed in Texas in the United States late on Thursday night.
According to officials, the victims were travelling from Amarillo to participate in a tournament in New Braunfels when the aircraft went down near Wimberley, located about 40 miles southwest of Austin.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 11 p.m. Preliminary reports indicated that the aircraft may have lost control due to a technical fault.
The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that the pilot and four passengers on board were declared dead at the scene.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the crash.
