Election Flying Squad officials conducted a detailed inspection of AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s campaign vehicle during his election tour in Kanyakumari
district.
Palaniswami, who has been campaigning across southern districts in support of party candidates, was stopped by officials who thoroughly checked the vehicle for unaccounted cash or gifts.
Every box and bag in the van was inspected as part of the routine election surveillance.
At one point, officials directed security personnel to open the battery compartment of the vehicle.
Following this, Palaniswami instructed his staff to fully cooperate, and the compartment was also opened for inspection.
After an intensive search lasting several minutes, officials confirmed that no violations were found.
The party flag displayed on the vehicle was also verified to have proper approval, following which the vehicle was allowed to proceed.
The inspection drew attention in the area as it briefly disrupted the campaign movement.
In a similar operation, Election Flying Squad officials also inspected the vehicle of Naam Tamilar Katchi Chief Coordinator Seeman in Karaikudi.
The search led to a brief commotion as Seeman questioned the officials during the inspection.
