French President Emmanuel Macron was seen taking a morning walk along the streets of Mumbai under tight security during his three-day official visit to India, drawing attention on social media after visuals of the stroll went viral.
President Macron, accompanied by security personnel, later paid tribute along with his wife Brigitte Macron to the victims of the November 26, 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
The French leader is in India from February 17 to 19 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the Artificial Intelligence Impact Summit 2026 hosted by the Government of India.
During the visit, President Macron is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi. In the evening, the two leaders will jointly inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation 2026 business conference in Mumbai and address leading business figures, innovators and researchers from both nations, underscoring growing strategic and technological ties between India and France.
