Geri Care launches Coimbatore’s first Geriatrician-led long-term Care hospital

Geri Care, a pioneer in integrated eldercare services in India, has launched Coimbatore’s first geriatrician-led Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Long-term Care Hospital exclusively for senior citizens. The 100-bed facility, located at Lakshmi Mills Junction opposite Lulu Mall, has been designed to cater to the growing healthcare needs of the elderly.
The centre was inaugurated by Dr. Raja Sabapathy, Director of Ganga Hospital, in the presence of G. Soundararajan, Chairman of C.R.I. Pumps, V. Lakshminarayanasamy, Managing Director of Suguna Group, and Dr. Lakshmipathy Ramesh, Founder and Managing Director of Geri Care.
The facility offers a comprehensive range of services including assisted living, post-surgical care, post-hospitalisation recovery, rehabilitation, dementia care, palliative care, respite care and day-care services. It will also function as a Geriatric Multispecialty Outpatient Clinic equipped with ECG, Echo, Ultrasound, laboratory, pharmacy, vaccination, physiotherapy and rehabilitation facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Lakshmipathy Ramesh said the increasing elderly population and rising demand for specialised geriatric services had created the need for dedicated long-term care facilities. He noted that Coimbatore, which has emerged as a preferred retirement destination, required a healthcare model that bridges the gap between hospital care and home-based support.
Dr. Raja Sabapathy described specialised geriatric care as an essential healthcare requirement and said the new facility would address a critical gap in senior citizen care. With India’s elderly population projected to exceed 230 million by 2036, Geri Care aims to provide a complete continuum of medical care, rehabilitation and assisted living services, enabling senior citizens to age with dignity, comfort and professional support close to home.
