GIC housing finance limited sponsors new school bus for rural students

Arunachala Village School, a charitable institution serving underprivileged rural children in Tiruvannamalai, on Friday inaugurated a new school bus worth Rs. 21.30 lakh under the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of General Insurance Corporation Housing Finance Limited.
The bus was formally flagged off by Sachindra Salvi, Managing Director of GIC Housing Finance Limited, in the presence of Ramya, President of the school.
Nutan Singh, Company Secretary of the company, also took part in the inaugural ceremony. During his visit, Mr. Salvi toured the campus and interacted with the management and
staff. He appreciated the school’s efforts in delivering quality education to economically disadvantaged children and lauded its transparent functioning and commitment to inclusive rural education.
Arunachala Village School is a non-profit institution that provides free education to children from orphaned backgrounds, single-parent families and economically marginalised rural communities. The school does not collect any fees and operates entirely on donations and philanthropic support.
Giridharan, Manager, Yogalakshmi, Headmistress, along with teachers, staff, parents and students, were present on the occasion.
The new bus is expected to ensure safer and more reliable transportation for children from remote villages, easing travel difficulties and improving regular attendance.
The school management expressed gratitude to GIC Housing Finance Limited for extending CSR support and strengthening access to education for rural
children.
