Gold prices climb again silver remains steady

Gold prices in Chennai rose again on Tuesday, continuing the recent trend of fluctuations that have unsettled jewellery buyers. The price of 22-carat gold jewellery increased by Rs. 160 per sovereign and is now being sold at Rs. 1,16,800 per sovereign. The price per gram went up by Rs. 80 to Rs. 14,600.
On February 9, gold had surged sharply by Rs. 1,840 per sovereign to touch Rs. 1,17,200, while the per gram rate rose by Rs. 230 to Rs. 14,650.
However, on February 10, the price dipped by Rs. 560 per sovereign to Rs. 1,16,640 and by Rs. 70 per gram to Rs. 14,580 before rising again today.
Over the past five days, gold prices have shown notable volatility. On February 6, a sovereign of 22-carat gold was priced at Rs. 1,14,000.
It increased to Rs. 1,15,360 on February 7 and remained at the same level on February 8 before climbing further on February 9 and 10.
Meanwhile, silver prices remained unchanged for the second consecutive day.
One gram of silver is being sold at Rs. 300, while one kilogram bar is priced at Rs. 3,00,000.
Jewellers said market fluctuations and global trends continue to influence domestic bullion rates.
