Gold Prices Dip After Recent Fluctuations

Gold prices in Chennai witnessed a decline on Tuesday after sharp fluctuations over the past few days, offering slight relief to buyers.
Last week, gold prices showed mixed trends and surged over the weekend. However, on Monday, prices dropped in the morning before rising again in the evening. The price per gram fell by Rs. 140 to Rs. 13,810, while a sovereign declined by Rs. 1,120 to Rs. 1,10,480. Later in the day, prices rebounded, with gold rising by Rs. 180 per gram to Rs. 13,990 and a sovereign increasing by Rs. 1,440 to Rs. 1,11,920.
On Tuesday, the price of 22-carat gold jewellery fell again by Rs. 1,040 per sovereign and is being sold at Rs. 1,10,880. The price per gram declined by Rs. 130 to Rs. 13,860.
Silver prices, however, remained unchanged. One gram of silver is being sold at Rs. 260, while a kilogram bar is priced at Rs. 2.60 lakh.
According to market data, gold prices over the past five days have shown volatility, standing at Rs. 1,11,920 per sovereign on April 6, Rs. 1,11,600 on April 5 and 4, Rs. 1,10,800 on April 3, and Rs. 1,10,000 on April 2.
Silver prices have largely remained steady during the same period, hovering around Rs. 255 to Rs. 260 per gram.
