School Education, Tamil Development, Information and Publicity Minister Rajmohan on Thursday inaugurated the Government Exhibition organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations at VOC Grounds in Coimbatore and distributed welfare assistance worth Rs 3.92 crore to 459 beneficiaries.
The event was held in the presence of Backward Classes Welfare Minister V. Sampath Kumar. Following the inauguration, the Ministers visited various departmental stalls showcasing government schemes, achievements and public welfare programmes.

Addressing the gathering, Rajmohan said government exhibitions play a vital role in creating awareness about welfare schemes and ensuring that people benefit from various development initiatives. He noted that such exhibitions are conducted annually across Tamil Nadu, with Coimbatore being one of the six districts where they are held every year.
A total of 32 stalls, including those of 26 government departments and six government agencies, have been set up at the exhibition. Departments such as Agriculture, Tourism, Forest, Police, School Education, Health, Social Welfare, Transport, Horticulture and Rural Development are participating.
During the function, welfare assistance, housing allotment orders, bank loan approvals, micro-irrigation kits, disability aids, maternity nutrition kits, free spectacles and various other benefits were distributed to beneficiaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister V. Sampath Kumar highlighted Coimbatore’s importance as a leading industrial and educational hub and urged the public to make full use of the 45-day exhibition to learn about government schemes and services.
District Collector Pavan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar, Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja and senior government officials participated in the event.
