A 70-year-old woman died after being accidentally hit by a car while helping her grandson park a vehicle in Uttar Pradesh’s Farrukhabad district.
The deceased, Sarala Kathiyar, was assisting her grandson, who had recently purchased a Mahindra Thar, when the incident occurred at their residence last Thursday.
According to reports, as the grandson attempted to reverse the car, it suddenly moved backwards and struck Sarala Kathiyar. She was trapped between the vehicle and a wall, sustaining severe injuries.
The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed at the house. Visuals show Sarala Kathiyar opening the gate and guiding the vehicle before the car unexpectedly rolled back and hit her.
She was immediately rushed to a hospital by her grandson, but she succumbed to her injuries.
Police officials from Fatehgarh said no formal complaint has been received so far. Preliminary findings suggest that the accident may have occurred due to failure to engage the handbrake properly.
