Groom found dead in Temple pond hours after wedding

In a shocking incident, a groom was found dead just hours after his marriage, his body discovered floating in a temple pond near the wedding venue.
Police are investigating whether the death was caused by suicide, accidental drowning, or foul play.
Ajith Kumar (27), son of Periyasamy from Arumbakkam village near Arcot in Ranipet district, worked as a construction labourer. He married Sandhya (23) from Kallakurichi at the Renukambal Temple in Arumbakkam on Sunday.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their families were seen interacting with the guests within the temple premises.
At some point, Ajith Kumar reportedly walked towards the temple pond still dressed in his wedding attire.
When he did not return for a long time, relatives began searching for him.
To their shock, Ajith was found floating lifeless in the pond.
Family members raised an alarm, and the body was recovered immediately.
The Maalai police registered a case and have begun an intensive inquiry to determine whether Ajith slipped and drowned, took his own life, or was the victim of a possible murder.
The sudden death of the groom on his wedding day has thrown the village into deep grief and raised numerous unanswered questions.
