High-Octane Showdown: Indian Racing Festival Round 3 Returns to Coimbatore

The Indian Racing Festival (IRF) roars back into action this weekend as Round 3 gets underway at the Kari Motor Speedway on October 4 and 5. After thrilling opening rounds in Coimbatore and Chennai, the championship resumes with rivalries tightening and the title fight reaching fever pitch.

The spotlight will be on the Indian Racing League (IRL), along with the Formula 4 Indian Championship (F4IC) and the JK Tyre National Racing Championship – LGB F4 (JKNRC). The JKNRC, now in its 28th year, remains the country’s longest-running championship by a single promoter.

In the IRL standings, Hyderabad Blackbirds lead with 51 points, powered by Jon Lancaster, Akshay Bohra, Gabriela Jilkova, and Mohamed Ryan. Just one point behind, Speed Demons Delhi sit ready to pounce at 50, while the Kolkata Royal Tigers remain firmly in the hunt at 49. With margins razor-thin, every lap at Kari promises wheel-to-wheel drama.

The Kari Motor Speedway, with its technical layout and unpredictable weather, adds another layer of intrigue. A sudden drizzle or a shift in track temperature could upset the leaderboard in seconds, demanding both precision and bold strategy.

Reflecting on the season, Akhilesh Reddy, CMD of RPPL, said: “Returning to Kari is always special. This circuit offers unique challenges and deeper fan connect. We expect Round 3 to be our most competitive yet, with unpredictable weather and closer battles across all championships.”

Round 3 will feature 2 IRL races, 4 F4IC showdowns, and 3 JKNRC contests, ensuring fans a weekend packed with adrenaline. Tickets are available on District by Zomato, while live coverage will air on Star Sports Select 2 and JioCinema.

With speed, skill, and strategy converging, Coimbatore is all set for India’s most electrifying motorsport weekend.
