How will Vijay face the current crisis?

The news that TVK leader Vijay’s name is going to be included in the chargesheet in the Karur tragedy case has shocked TVK members.
During his interrogation in Delhi yesterday, the CBI raised tough questions like, “Why were you late in reaching the place of the incident?”, “Didn’t you know that there was trouble going on downstairs?”, “What efforts did you make to prevent the accident? Why did you take the vehicle inside when there was so much crowd?”
Vijay’s supporters believe that he is being targeted deliberately. They cite a similar situation to that of V.K. Sasikala in 2017, when legal and investigative pressures forced Sasikala to withdraw from politics. In the current environment, actor Vijay has four options before him.
1. Contest alone against BJP and DMK. This path is highly confrontational. Vijay can contest alone and position himself against the two major powers, DMK and AIADMK & BJP alliance. He can face prosecutions. He can even go to jail. But this will portray him as a fearless alternative force. However, it is fraught with high risks. Is Vijay ready to contest alone in the face of such challenges?
2. Quitting politics. Politics in India is never easy, especially for newcomers who do not have strong institutional support. By quitting politics, Vijay can protect himself from legal problems and personal threats. It will reduce the pressure on him. But it will definitely disappoint his fans and supporters. They have an unwavering belief that he will not back down like Rajini.
3. TVK accepts a coalition with the DMK. This is a unique alliance method. Contesting with DMK support will significantly reduce legal and political pressures. DMK’s legal strength will help Vijay. If elected as an MLA, he will get institutional protection. The entire ‘India Alliance’ will stand by him against the actions of the investigating agencies. Political observers believe that Vijay, who started his political journey by opposing DMK, is very unlikely to take this decision.
4. Joining the AIADMK-BJP alliance. The CBI investigation is being considered as a ploy to pull Vijay towards the BJP. Due to this, Vijay has the opportunity to lean towards the BJP. If this decision is taken, will Vijay’s political future become brighter? Rather than getting relief from the pressures on him for the time being.
So, Vijay is currently at an important turning point. Will he go straight and achieve alone, or will he lean to the side? A four-party panel debate is underway on the People’s Forum.
