Indian Bank, FGMO, Coimbatore has achieved a milestone by sanctioning loans worth over Rs 950 crore at its MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) camp held today at Taj Vivanta Hotel in Coimbatore — setting a new record for loan approvals under one roof.
The event commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Shri. Binod Kumar, Managing Director and CEO, Indian Bank; Mrs. B. Sudha Rani, Field General Manager (FGM), FGMO Coimbatore; Shri. Venkata Ramana Rao CH., Zonal Manager, ZO Coimbatore; Shri. Ameerullah Jawahir K.M., Deputy Zonal Manager, ZO Coimbatore; and Dr.Vasudevan, Resident Medical Officer (RMO), Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH), who attended as the special guest for the CSR initiative.

Addressing the gathering, Shri. Binod Kumar said that Indian Bank has been organizing MSME camps across the country to strengthen the small and medium enterprise ecosystem. “Tamil Nadu, especially Coimbatore, is a major hub for MSMEs. The bank’s MSME portfolio has grown by 16–17%, contributing 14% to our total loan book. Our goal is to increase this to 17%. Fourteen new digital services have also been launched, enabling customers to access loans conveniently from their homes,” he
stated.
Participants at the camp lauded Indian Bank’s efficient and customer-focused services.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, Indian Bank donated 10 wheelchairs to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for patient use. The wheelchairs were presented by Shri. Binod Kumar and received by Dr. Vasudevan, RMO, CMCH.
