Indian Businessman Gunned down outside home in Canada

In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through the Indian diaspora, Darshan Singh Sahsi, a prominent Indian-origin businessman and chairman of Canam International, was shot dead in broad daylight outside his home in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on Monday morning. According to police reports, the 68-year-old entrepreneur was seated in his car outside his residence when an unidentified gunman approached and opened fire at close range before fleeing the scene. Emergency responders rushed to the spot following reports of gunfire. Sahsi was found critically injured inside his vehicle and was administered first aid, but he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
The Abbotsford Police Department has confirmed that the investigation is in its initial stages and no arrests have been made so far. Authorities are examining CCTV footage from the area and appealing to residents for any information related to the shooting.
Originally from Rajgarh village in Ludhiana district, Punjab, Sahsi hailed from a farming family and migrated to Canada in 1991. Over the years, he built Canam Group into one of the world’s leading clothing recycling companies, with operations in more than 40 countries. The company has provided employment to a large number of Punjabi immigrants across the globe.
The brazen daylight killing of the respected businessman has deeply rattled the Indo-Canadian community, with calls growing for a swift and thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
