Indian Overseas Bank Organises Financial Inclusion Camp at Pudukudi Panchayat

Indian Overseas Bank, the Lead Bank of Trichy, conducted a Financial Inclusion Saturation Camp at Pudukudi Gram Panchayat in Lalgudi block today as part of the nationwide JanSuraksha Saturation Campaign, which runs from July 1 to September 30.

Deputy Secretary of the Department of Financial Services, Chennai, Mr. J. S. Mohamed Ashraf, participated as the chief guest. Mrs. N. Vijaya, General Manager, Indian Overseas Bank – Central Office Chennai & Convener Tamil Nadu SLBC and Mr. G. Sriram, General Manager, Regional Office, Trichy, were also present along with senior bank officials.

Enrolment counters were set up for key social security schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), and the Atal Pension Yojana (APY). Live re-KYC facilities were also provided to customers.

The campaign aims to expand coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) and other schemes while also focusing on reactivating dormant accounts and updating nomination details. Financial literacy sessions were conducted to create awareness on preventing digital frauds, reclaiming unclaimed deposits with the RBI, and the role of the Banking Ombudsman.

The programme saw participation from officials of various banks, business correspondents, and residents from nearby villages.
