The Women Empowerment Cell of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women celebrated International Women’s Day with various programmes highlighting the role of women in society.
R Subhadra, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of PVR Foods, participated as the chief guest and shared her experiences as an entrepreneur. She encouraged students to identify their unique talents and develop them through proper training and dedication.
Principal K Chitra, in her address, said that women achievers play a crucial role in leading society towards progress and inspiring future generations.
As part of the celebrations, students, teaching staff and non teaching staff who won prizes in competitions organised for Women’s Day were honoured during the event.
Students of the college also extended their greetings and distributed gifts to women working in various fields including drivers, street vendors and corporation sanitation workers, recognising their contributions to society.
The thoughtful gesture of the students in appreciating the efforts of these unsung women workers was widely appreciated by those present at the event.
