Doctors in Jaipur were stunned after discovering iron spanners and toothbrushes inside the stomach of a 26-year-old man from Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, who was admitted with severe abdominal pain.
The young man was brought to a private hospital after complaining of intense stomach pain for several days. Medical scans conducted by doctors revealed the presence of multiple foreign objects lodged in his stomach, including iron spanners and toothbrushes.
Following the shocking diagnosis, doctors immediately decided to perform surgery.
The operation, which lasted nearly two hours, was successfully completed, during which two iron spanners and seven toothbrushes were removed from the man’s stomach.
Hospital sources said the patient is currently stable and recovering well after the surgery. Doctors later revealed that the man was suffering from mental health issues and had swallowed the objects during periods of psychological distress.
Medical experts said timely intervention helped prevent serious complications and have advised continued psychiatric treatment for the patient. The unusual case has drawn attention among medical professionals in the state.
