Isakki Subbiah seeks to withdraw resignation as Ambasamudram MLA

Isakki Subbiah has filed an additional petition before the Madras High Court seeking to withdraw his resignation as the MLA of Ambasamudram constituency.
He has also written to the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly requesting permission to continue as Ambasamudram MLA until the case relating to the proposed by-election is disposed of.
In his petition, Isakki Subbiah said people of the constituency were being severely affected as the constituency currently did not have an MLA.
Meanwhile, the Assembly Secretary’s office has reportedly informed that there is no provision to withdraw an MLA’s resignation after it has been submitted.
A response from the Assembly Speaker to Isakki Subbiah is expected to be sent on Wednesday.
