Income Tax Department officials on Friday conducted searches at multiple locations linked to a close associate of former Minister Senthil Balaji in Karur district.
The raids were carried out at four premises, including the residence and office of Shankar Anand, said to be a friend of Senthil Balaji.
Officials also conducted searches at two restaurants located on the Karur–Coimbatore Road as part of the operation.
Sources said the Proceedings was part of an ongoing probe into financial transactions, though detailed information regarding the findings is yet to be officially disclosed.
Further investigations are under way.
