Actor, Rajya Sabha MP, and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) leader Kamal Haasan is celebrating his 71st birthday today, with greetings pouring in from across the political spectrum and film fraternity.
Extending his wishes, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin took to his official X (formerly Twitter) page to post a warm message praising Kamal Haasan’s artistic brilliance and patriotic spirit.
“Happy birthday to the leader of Makkal Needhi Maiam, the artist Kamal Haasan, who, with his insatiable thirst for art, has taken Tamil cinema to international standards with his versatility, and with his unquenchable patriotism strives to save our diverse country from destructive fascist forces, and who has shown me immense love and friendship!” Stalin wrote.
He further added, “I wish that the country and its rulers continue to act in accordance with the principles of the Constitution, and that Kamal Haasan’s political service, echoed in Parliament, and his artistic journey continue to excel.”
Born on November 7, 1954, in Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram district, Kamal Haasan began his career as a child artist and went on to become one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated performers. His landmark films include Nayakan, Indian, Hey Ram, and Vikram.
Fans across Tamil Nadu are celebrating the day with welfare events, blood donation drives, and special screenings of his classic films.
